Robert Gordon, from County Downs, Ireland, came to the Parrish of St. Jerusalem, in 1824 and bought 100 acres
of land which is now owned and occupied by his son Robert. The later who is now upward of 80 years. He has
been a magestrate for a quarter of a century.
The following was copied from a sampler, that was in the possesion of Rosalie Hazel (Bunnell) Gordon at the
time of her death in 1990.

The following information was taken from a book, by Mabel Ross, that she found in the Gordon home at
LaChute, Canada.

Edinburgh February 1842.
Robert Gordon, the elder, had a son who drowned at age twelve. And a daughter Jane, who made the sampler,
married to a man named Wilson

The following information was from Mabel (Sly) Ross. "Mary Gordon 1845 married when about 60 years old
to Dennis Bennett, his 2nd marriage. They lived in Glendale, California. He died in 1934, she died later date
unknown to us.

Notes for MARGARET "MAGGIE" GORDON:
The following information was sent to us from Mable (Sly) Ross,"Margaret 1847=1935 married to Duncan
Bryan, he was a minister, who died in 1918. They lived at Downey, California. She was blind at the last.
They both were buried at Whittier, California.

Notes for ROBERT GORDON:
Robert Gordon, born 22 October 1848, Lachute, Canada. As the story goes, he and two brothers, William,
and James, left Canada for California about 1882. They traveled by train, which stopped at night and they
would stay in hotels or boarding houses. One one such stop in Oklahoma, Robert meant a girl and decided to
remain there. William and James continued on their journey.
Years later, about 1935, A Gordon showed up at the Marysville Post Office, where James Ray Gordon, (son
of James) worked. So evidently the older generation had kept in contact. Anyway he claimed to be the son
of Robert Gordon, and a cousin to James Ray. He was on his way at that time to visit someone in
Washington State, another relative, perhaps.

Notes for JAMES GORDON:
Left his home in Canada with three brothers about 1882. They traveled by Train by day and the train stopped at
night and they stayed in hotels or boarding houses. When they stopped one night in Oklahoma, the following
morning one of the brothers said he had ment a girl and was going to stay there. The others continued on their
way, and eventually ended up in the foothills of Yuba County, California.

Her sister Helen Gordon married a man with a daughter, but never had any of her own. Last I heard she was
living near Beneica, California.
